A little video to let you in on the Fifa action...

FIFA TOURNAMENT

A lot of great Fifa players and Fifa spectators came
out to make the event a great time.

Tensions were high in the final four matches
Mike was making magic on the field. Guys were going
crazy as they witnessed things never before seen on Fifa 11.

Fifa Tournament

Today at 6:30pm, we are hosting a FIFA Tournament in the sophomore's dorm lounge (Bittner 1st floor).  We are looking to raise some support and establish campus awareness for our mission trip to Colombia. We won't know until tonight, but it seems like there is going to be a good number of people there which is pretty exciting. Pray that it goes well and that Messiah's campus begins to see our team's vision and excitement and joins us in our excitement as we prepare for our trip.  Hopefully we'll get some pictures or a video up to highlight this sweet event!

Team Devotionals

It's been an exciting spring for our team.  We have been training, running, playing, and spending a lot of time together.  Our Sunday night devotionals have taken a unique form this spring, as we focus them in on our preparation for our trip to Colombia. We are looking to collectively and individually prepare hearts and our minds for this.upcoming adventure.  It's been great; brainstorming ideas for ways to raise awareness and support, sharing our questions and concerns with the mission ahead of us, and diving into God's Word.  I just wanted to share with everyone one of the verses we looked into last week during our devotional time.
2 Timothy 1:7 , "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." We pray (and ask that you would pray with us) that we can take this to heart and live this out on our trip.  That we face adversity and challenges with the power, love, and self-discipline that we can only receive from God.

Treadmill Party

If you would have happened to be anywhere near the indoor track last saturday you would've seen the latest in Messiah soccer love. Affectionately known by the team as "treadmill parties" these get togethers are something truly special.

Last friday the team got an Email from our beloved Aaron Faro, (also known as slave driver- drill Sergeant- or "all I do is win") He sent us a workout. The workout, a masterpiece in treadmill torture is called Boiling point. Essentially, start out slow, crank the speed up in increments every two minutes.. go until you can't. For most teams this sounds like an awful experience.. For Messiah, it was an awesome opportunity. A text was sent out telling the team (or at least most) when to meet up at the treadmills to run and as people began pouring ino the track an awesome atmosphere was brewing. The ingredients:

1 BOSE sound system
5 treadmills
15 guys...
And the party began.

As "call on me", impromptu bag pipes, and "beast mode" blared from the speakers guys dug in for the hardest workout of the year. Love poured from every player as they spent the better part of 3 hours cheering their teammates on... pushing them from 15 minutes to 20, 20 to 25, and even 30 to 40. This was not a mandatory thing... this was not even a recommended thing... people just couldn't stand to leave their brothers up there alone..couldn't stand to see them perform at anything less than their best...

Not one person that ran that day hit the stop button... every guy at that party found the floor unexpectedly-tumbling, rolling, and falling off the back when they just couldn't dig any deeper.

For us, this is a statement that reaches far beyond the treadmill. For us, this is a statement of dedication and love to our brothers--we have each others back.

Staying Sharp,
ISI
